This image has been a vision of mine for over 2 years. At the inception of my vision, I saw the angel next to the side of the freeway and like most of my visions, they turn out slightly different. In this case, I am quite pleased with the result. This man's name is Kevin. He sells newspapers on the side of 242 and I45 every Saturday and Sunday. He had the face. He was perfect. My mom drove around two times before she found him and was able to briefly propose the idea of photographing him the following weekend. She told him my name and said that I would be there. I did not let him down, I showed up but I could not appropriate all resources as well as schedule the angel in just 1 week, so I promised him I would come back and offered him lunch and some money for participating in my vision. I told him honestly that this was about a vision of the every day man unaware of angels all around us especially when we least expect it. He was kind. He was friendly. I promised him two 5x7's to keep. I often wonder what he'll do with them and how I can offer them in such a way that will stay in tact despite the weather. I know God will help me think of something.
This woman is a dear friend that I plan to know till I'm old and grey, When Niki asked me to be a guest at her mother's 50th anniversary of being here in the U.S., I never would have thought I would have experienced such joy being a part of such an occasion. Her speech to her mother was so heartfelt and pure and honest that I don't know if there was a dry eye in the house. Their love is strong and private and pure and for a moment, we were all let into a beautiful moment. Happy 50th to a woman who gave the world an amazing woman whom I have the pleasure to call friend.
